The Thredbo Alpine Resort Attractions
Being situated right in the Thredbo Village and on the Alpine Way, Schuss Lodge Thredbo provides year round access to this premier alpine resort. Thredbo has challenging runs for all standards and boasts Australia's highest lift, greatest vertical and longest run. For a bit of variety Perisher Blue is readily accessed with the Bullock's Flat Ski Tube Terminal an easy 17km drive down the Alpine Way. With the resort nestled under the Crackenback Range and only 6km from Mount Kosziusko itself, access to the main range and the challenges of back country snow riding are within easy reach.
During winter Thredbo is abuzz with activity with a supermarket, post office, boutiques and a range of restaurants (including the highest in Australia) to suit most tastes and purses. Of course prices are somewhat higher than in the cities. Our Lodge Manager will generally be able to advise you of the year's best buys on the basis of reputation and the experiences of previous visitors.
Thredbo is arguably Australia's most reknowned for its range of summer activities which includes bush walking; tennis; golf; trout fishing; horse riding; and mountain bike riding. We open our Lodges during the summer holiday period. At other times of the year, outside the winter skiing season, the Lodges are available for group bookings of modest numbers.
